Mylpaal Vol. 5 - Fixed gear never dies!!!
Fixed Gear Never Dies. It Just Needs a Place to Explode Again
Many say that the cycling trend has passed. But in the fixed gear scene? You are very wrong. Mylpaal Vol.5 in Pekalongan proves that speed, sweat, and style are still a must-have package on the streets. Juniors and seniors compete in strategy, mentality, and prestige with one goal: don't fall behind the peloton.

Fixed gear bikes are here to stay, they just need a place to explode!!!
Many people think that the cycling season is fading and being replaced by other sports. But that's not the case for the fixed gear scene. With the arrival of Mylpaal Criterium Race Vol.5 in Pekalongan, the fixed gear world has shown that they have a place that no one can take away.
The proof? 112 participants revved up their engines to join the race, complete with support teams ranging from mechanics and support crews to cheering squads ready to shout encouragement. Truly a complete and vibrant scene! 🎉
Pekalongan deserves a standing ovation
Mylpaal is not just a racing event. It is a gathering, a competition of skills, and a way to maintain the fixed gear community so that it remains alive and solid. It is perfect for junior racers who are looking to gain experience.
A stepping stone to becoming an athlete? Absolutely. 🔥
And what's even more exciting is that this time, there were also real athletes participating in the race. The juniors got to see firsthand how to strategize at a higher level because bike racing isn't just about muscles, but also brains!
Adel & Gamal: Junior High School Kids with Steel Mentality
We met two young racers: Adel and Gamal, junior high school students from Yogyakarta who traveled far to participate in Mylpaal. This is their second time participating.
They openly said that this race is:
“A test of mental strength and a way to gain experience.”
Gamal even shared his big dream:
“If there's a way to become an athlete... I want to do it! I have to be ready if I find the way.”
And Adel? Fully supported by his parents. That's the spirit. 🫶

Afghan & Krisna: even though they're high schoolers, they're zen in their thinking.
There's also Afghan and Krisna, high school racers whose performance is no joke.
The preliminaries? Afghan finished first. Krisna was in the top 10.
The finals? Both remained in the top 10. Consistent? Definitely.
Afghan said breathlessly:
“During the preliminaries, my strategy worked, and I was physically ready. But in the finals, everyone was equally strong... the rest was strategy. I lost because I wasn't clever enough.”
It hurts, but it's honest!!! And it's an expensive lesson.

Mylpaal: Where talent is forged and the future of athletes is created
Events like Mylpaal are truly important. This is where young racers are mentally forged, gain competition experience, and slowly move up from hobby to career potential.
If the path to becoming an athlete opens wide in the future,
they will already be ready. 😌
In closing… The scene stays alive
Congratulations to all participants, teams, supporters, and organizers who keep Mylpaal the most anticipated event in the fixed-gear scene. 🥳
Fixed gear isn't fading. We'll light it up with a stove if we have to!!!! Fire🔥 Fire🔥 Fire🔥 to keep it bright.
See you at the next Mylpaal! 🚴💨🔥
